Brendan has been involved in diamond turning, an ultra-precision optics machining process, since 1996.

Prior to joining the ANFF-SA, he relocated to Australia from the USA to take a position with BAE Systems.

Before his move to Australia, he specialised in manufacturing optics, including the initial primary mirrors for Global Hawk, mirrors for THAAD, and the NOAA-N Prime satellite, during his tenure at II-VI Inc.

He also worked on R&D optics for the F-35's electro-optic targeting system while at Lockheed Martin and served as the Lead for the Diamond Turning Department at FLIR Government Systems.
