Dr Jason Gascooke

Instrument Manager

After post-doctoral positions at University of California, Berkeley, and The University of Adelaide, he re-joined Flinders University in 2008 as a lecturer and researcher.

Jason’s research has included work in the areas of molecular spectroscopy (microwave, infrared and high resolution rovibronic spectroscopies), reaction dynamics (dissociation of van der Waals complexes and dynamics of evaporation from a liquid surface), nanotechnology (formation of nano-materials using laser based methods) and energetic materials.

Jason joined the ANFF-SA team in 2017, to manage the nanonics tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) equipment. This instrument uses an atomic force microscope (AFM) with a gold nano-probe to provide enhanced Raman spectra of the surface at special resolutions below that achievable with conventional Raman microscopy.
